Today is the BIG date June 25, 2006

While I was thinking about what I wanted for my birthday from my parents, I was thinking about maybe registering with Weight Watchers. Then I was thinking that I really do not have the time to go to meetings and the real reason I wanted to go was because I wanted to be accountable for my goal.
So, I decided I would do a weight loss goal on my website and let my friends and family help me be accountable. Then instead for my birthday, I would ask them for a nice coffee maker and coffee bean grinder instead.
Here it is – my current weight is 148. I know it is not bad but I have enough rolls from my three children that I look much larger. I want to lose 15 fat pounds. My goal is to get myself exersizing everyday and to give up (mostly) sweets. Boy, not working as a waitress has really shown me how much exercise I was getting there! I will try to post weekly about how I am doing. Thanks in advance for your support!

    If there’s anyone who can do it, it’s you. I remember how devoted you were when I first met you. We’d all get together and order a pizza and you’d stop by somewhere to pick up something healthy for yourself.

    Wow – I remember that! Thanks for your support Monique. I just signed up for team in training which provides coaches to help you train for a 1/2 marathon or full marathon. I signed up to do the 1/2 marathon in OC in January 2007. When you first met me I was running 6 miles a day! The reason I stopped at 6 was because my lunch hour was over!

    Good luck! We’re all supporting you up here! Everyone will have advice, so here are my two cents: (they worked for me — remember when I lost 40 pounds in 5 months?)

    1) Drink more water…water, water, water. I cut out soda almost entirely and drank water instead.

    2) Eat dinner earlier. We started eating at 5pm and it made a huge diference.

    3) Go halfsies…get what you normally eat, but only eat half of it at a meal, if possible. I used to get 12 inch subs….I moved to 6 inch subs, the same kind, and didn’t feel any hungrier when finished.

    Just a few things I did. Do whatever works for you, and be proud of being generally healthier, regardless of the amount of weight you actually lose.
