Yesterday in the caf they had mashed potatoes with pureed carrots. It didn't look great but it tasted really good! I love all those ideas and will have to start using them on my husband for practice...

When I married this woman, I did not know she could cook. Heck, I didn't even care at the time. But now... oh my goodness. Best. Wife. Ever.

Cool! I think that's become a popular secret these days. I got the Jessica Seinfeld book for Monique this year, and we're seeing more programs on the Food network use the veggie purees. Interesting stuff. I'm down to try some out, so it's good to hear that they're workin' at your place!

And whole wheat spaghetti rocks, by the way.

Thanks! That place is a ton of fun. After we got there, we learned that it is an actual English pub that was in London in the 19th century. A hundred years ago it was dismantled and brought to New York. Eventually, it was dismantled again and placed into storage. A design team for the Broadmoor found it in the 1950s, and reassembled it in Colorado Springs.

The piano player was, thankfully, not more than a hundred years old. He was great and once he broke the news to the crowd and had them sing "Happy Birthday" to me, it was no longer safe to be drinking anything being offered to me. Speaking of which, I tried a Black Velveteen for the first time (Guiness layered on top of a hard dry cider). Strange, but good.

I love you!

hey shannon, just an FYI- they used to have a claim jumper in denver when we were there in the late 90's. probably still there! check it out. we miss it too! there are definitely no CJ's up here in Alaska. there is also a claim jumper restaurant in frisco which is definitely NOT parrt of the franchise we know and love. we learned that one the hard way!!!

I always find myself out on Sunday trying to run errands and cursing at the stores that close early. That would be a tough adjustment if they weren't open at all. I guess I would probably buy less cars though. ;-)

Amazing! I am what's called a brown thumb. I have nearly killed an iron plant that I inherited from Mark's grandmother. She bought the plant from a Japanese gardener as he was preparing to go into an internment camp during WW2.
So my hat is off to you.
